Use your ChatKeywords data in Claude (MCP)
Plans: MCP is on Starter, Growth and Agency. It is read-only and sees only your own brands.
What it is
MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT read data from other tools. Connect ChatKeywords and you can ask your assistant about your AI visibility, competitors, gaps and Google rankings in plain words.
Server URL and sign-in
Server URL: https://chatkeywords.com/api/mcp
There are two ways to sign in:
- Sign in with your ChatKeywords account (Claude and ChatGPT connectors). You pick which brand the assistant can read.
- An API key for tools that take a header, such as Claude Code and Cursor. Create a key in Settings, then send
Authorization: Bearer <your key>.
Set up in Claude
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it ChatKeywords and paste
https://chatkeywords.com/api/mcpas the URL. - Choose Connect, sign in to ChatKeywords and pick the brand.
- In a chat, turn on the ChatKeywords connector and ask a question.
ChatGPT works the same way: add a custom connector with the same URL, then sign in.
Set up in Claude Code
Create an API key in Settings, then run this in your terminal with the key in place of <your key>:
claude mcp add --transport http chatkeywords https://chatkeywords.com/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <your key>"Start Claude Code and run /mcp to check that chatkeywords is connected. Settings also has ready-to-copy config for Cursor and Claude Desktop.
Tools
Every tool is read-only. Data is collected weekly.
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
get_visibility | Your Chat Score and share of answers, overall and per engine and topic. |
get_trend | The weekly mention share for you and each competitor (up to 52 weeks). |
get_citation_gaps | Questions you lose, the sites AI cites instead of yours, and what to do next. |
get_unified_view | Every tracked Google keyword with its rank, search volume and AI share, side by side. |
get_rankings | The weekly Google rank history for one keyword. |
get_ai_traffic | Visits to your site from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and other assistants (needs GA4). |
Example questions
Try asking:
- “Which questions did we lose in Perplexity this month?”
- “Which competitors gain citations from pages we don't have?”
- “Summarize this week's AI visibility for client X.”
An Agency account connects one brand at a time. To ask about another client, connect again and pick that brand.
